Verbetering Fireperformance PC en PETG

Fire Performance is a character of Polycarbonate and GRIPHEN® (PETG) sheet products as they possess an oxygen index of more than 20,9% which means they do not burn readily in the atmospheric conditions, and thus can be regarded as self-extinguishable materials.

Fire is the main hazard, but at least as important as toxicity and smoke density. Polycarbonate and GRIPHEN have a low toxicity level, hence meeting the class F1 or F2 to the French smoke and toxicity tests. Additionally, GRIPHEN outperforms most plastics in smoke generation.

These are impressive properties of polycarbonate and Griphen added with good mechanical performance giving excellent overall safety score.

At Arla Plast we are now developing products with processing and by formulation methods in order to achieve the grade or classifications required.

Below are three examples of fire performance products which have been formulated specially to achieve better classifications.
